BM Contracting Ltd was founded in June 2015 with a clear vision — to provide Canterbury with a drainage and civil contracting company that puts quality workmanship and client service above everything else.
Over the past decade, we've grown from a small team to one of Canterbury's most respected drainage contractors, with 13 skilled staff including some of the most qualified drainlayers in the region. Our team includes 4 certified drainlayers, 4 registered drainlayers and 2 apprentices — a depth of qualification rarely seen in our industry.
We're proud to be Christchurch City Council approved contractors and recognised specialists in E-One pressure wastewater systems and ground dewatering.

Ben began his plumbing and drainlaying apprenticeship in 2005 and went on to found BM Contracting in 2015. With over 20 years in the construction industry, he brings a breadth of knowledge that few can match — from diagnosing a leaky tap to delivering multimillion-dollar land development projects.
Ben's drive is simple: find a better, smarter, more efficient way of doing things. Whether it's a straightforward residential drainage job or a complex civil project, he's the person you want in your corner — available to provide practical advice on design and planning to make sure you get the best possible outcome every time.
When he's not running jobs, Ben's happiest with something loud and fast — from car racing to motocross, if it's got wheels and an engine, he's in. He's also kept plenty busy at home with his wife and two young sons, Cooper and Lawson.
Jordan keeps the wheels turning at BM Contracting, overseeing day-to-day operations across all active sites. A certified drainlayer and qualified builder with 15+ years in the trades, he brings a rare depth of knowledge and a sharp eye for detail to every project. Jordan knows what clients expect and takes pride in helping deliver it — on time, on budget, every time. Proud to be part of the BM Contracting team since 2019.
When he's not on the tools, you'll find Jordan out in the open air — whether that's exploring the outdoors, hitting the trails on his bike, or spending time with his partner and young son Walter.
